Vital Link uses your data to:

  • Facilitate career exploration programs and event registrations.
  • Connect students with industry partners and educational pathways.

  • Send newsletters and program updates (only with your consent).
  • Analyze program impact for our board of directors and grantors.

As an organization serving K-12 and college students, we take the privacy of minors seriously.

  • Under 13: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
  • Ages 13–16: Under California law (CPRA), we do not “sell” or “share” the personal information of consumers we know are under 16 without explicit opt-in consent.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We only share data with:

  • Service Providers: Secure platforms that help us operate (e.g., registration software).
  • Educational Partners: School districts or CTE programs involved in your specific event.
  • Legal Necessity: If required by law or to protect the safety of our participants.

  • Right to Delete: You can request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

  • Right to Opt-Out of Automated Decision-Making: We do not currently use AI to make “significant decisions” about your career path, but you have the right to opt out of such processing if implemented.

We maintain industry-standard physical and electronic safeguards. We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide our services or as required by California record-keeping laws.
