Work-Based Training Program

Pathways to Careers

The Pathways to Career Program is a workshop series and work-based training program designed to equip youth with the essential soft skills needed for a successful career.

Each session focuses on a specific skill, such as professional communication, teamwork & adaptability, networking, interviewing, and resume building.

Youth will also gain real‑world experience through work‑based learning opportunities, including job shadows or internships, where they apply the skills learned in workshops, explore career interests, and build connections within their chosen industries.

This program aims to provide you with a clearer understanding of:

career pathways — how different industries work, what roles exist, and what steps lead to real opportunities.
workplace expectations — the professional behaviors, communication habits, and reliability employers look for.
your strengths — the skills you already have and how they connect to future career options.
practical next steps — how to prepare for interviews, build a resume, connect with industry partners, and take action toward your goals.

Take the next step toward your future.

Our Pathways to Careers program gives you access to career exploration, skill‑building workshops, industry connections, and real work‑based learning opportunities.

Sign up today to begin building the experience, confidence, and support you need to move toward your career goals.

The Pillars of Pathways to Careers

Career Exploration

Soft-Skills Training

Build practical skills in communication, career planning, teamwork, adaptability, and resume writing to feel confident and prepared for opportunities.

Industry Connections

Listen to what youth are saying...

This was my first experience in a professional environment, and it helped me become more confident in my communication, better understand workplace dynamics, and learn more about what it takes to run a business. I believe more organizations should offer opportunities like this because many students are eager to explore career paths and gain experience but don't know where to start. I would definitely recommend Vital Link to other students because it provides valuable real-world experience, exposes students to a variety of career paths, and helps build professional skills that can’t always be taught at school.
