Electric Vehicle Challenge

ANNUAL RACING TOURNAMENT

About the Electric Vehicle Challenge

The Vital Link Electric Vehicle (EV) Challenge, formerly known as the Energy Invitational Competition, is the ultimate showcase of students pushing the limits of design, construction, and racing prowess.

Throughout the school year, students in classes and clubs engage in the construction of energy-efficient vehicles. They use a variety of energy sources to either completely construct them from the ground up or alter already-built vehicles.

As students develop their operational prototypes, they gain a comprehensive understanding of various disciplines, including electrical and mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, physics, technology, and much more. At the end of the school year, over 25 high school teams, and 250 students compete head-to-head in an exciting timed-trial race for the coveted first-place prize.
