Take flight at the Vital Link Drone Competition, a high-energy, student-centered event designed to test piloting precision, technical skill, and strategic navigation under pressure. Hosted at Fullerton College, this hands-on STEM competition gives aspiring pilots and student engineers an unforgettable platform to showcase their drone flight capabilities.
The core highlight of the event is an adrenaline-fueled Drone Race operating under a head-to-head elimination format. Every match challenges pilots across two demanding phases:
Phase 1: The Obstacle Race — Pilots navigate complex airspace requiring split-second decision-making through high-speed hoops, vertical slalom poles, and tight, technical turns.
Phase 2: Package Delivery Challenge — Precision meets strategy as pilots lift off from a dedicated pickup zone, maneuver safely through flight paths, and drop off multiple payloads at target delivery locations.
Whether you are competing for the top podium spot or cheering on local student innovators, this interactive drone event highlights the future of aviation technology and hands-on STEM education.
