Edison High School

CIBACS (1)

CIBACS Studies

CIBACS (Center for International Business and Communication Studies) is a four-year program at Edison High School. CIBACS, started in 1995 by Gary Rhoades and Richard Gruner who are  both former teachers at Edison High School, is a unique program that offers its students an enriched and integrated curriculum that is enhanced through
  • competitive projects
  • job shadowing
  • internships with business partners
Students are prepared to progress to advanced applications of technology. They are taught to access, interpret and employ verbal, nonverbal, and electronic sources of information. Students learn to work effectively in a team and are sensitive to needs, problems, aspirations and customs of other cultures.

CIBACS produces high school graduates who meet the employability requirements for tomorrow’s high tech, international business environment.

CIBACS students are challenged by creating a portfolio highlighting skills and achievements. CIBACS students will speak, write, and listen effectively, and will deliver persuasive presentations. After working for many weeks they present a final project to a panel of judges.

CIBACS Marketing and Entrepreneuship

Workers with high tech skills and good attitudes are in demand from today’s businesses. While all high schools produce many students ready for the university, few graduates are ready for both the university and the business world. CIBACS steps into this void by supplying graduates who are both prepared for the university and equipped with the communication, technology, thinking, and social skills required in the workplace. CIBACS is CTE certified in two pathways for Marketing and Entrepreneurship.
