Competition Programs
EV (Electric Vehicle) Challenge
Students construct energy-efficient cars from the ground up or by altering pre-existing vehicles utilizing a combination of energy sources during the course of the academic year. As students build their operational prototypes, they acquire an understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, physics, materials science, alternative fuels, statistics, algebra, CAD/3D printing, technology, and fabrication. At the end of the school year, they compete in a time-trial-based race for the coveted first-place prize!
