Empowering Futures Annual Benefit

Join us at the Empowering Futures Annual Benefit, where our students will shine as presenters, photographers, musicians, DJs, and more. We need enthusiastic volunteers to assist with auction programming, check-in, and additional event tasks.
What You’ll Be Doing: As a volunteer, you will assist with auction programming, including managing Fund-a-Need donations and other fundraising activities. You’ll help with event check-in, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all attendees. Additionally, you’ll support various event tasks and provide guest assistance throughout the evening. Dress up and enjoy a delightful evening with dinner included, all while contributing to the success of our organization.

Shopping Extravaganza at the Outlets at San Clemente
October 12, 2024 | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Outlets at San Clemente
Join us for the Shopping Extravaganza Event and support Vital Link while enjoying a day of exclusive discounts, catered lunch, live entertainment, and a chance to win up to $40,000 in prizes. We need dedicated volunteers to help make this event a success.
What You’ll Be Doing: Volunteers are only required to assist during one 3-hour shift, with options available from 7 am until 5 pm. You’ll help with registration, check-in, lunch service, or wine tasting. When signing up, please select “Vital Link” as your organization to ensure proceeds benefit our programs. As a bonus, volunteers have the opportunity to participate in the day’s events for just $30, saving $10 off the regular ticket price.
NMUSD College and Career Fair

Future Leaders Conference
November 20, 2024 | 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM | JW Marriott Anaheim
General volunteers will monitor designated locations around the hotel and venue to ensure students stay in classrooms and assist in guiding them to workshop sessions. This role may involve a lot of standing.
Time shift(s) available: (1) 8 am – 11:30 am, (2) 11:00 am – 2:30 pm, (3) All Day 8 am – 2:30 pm.
Workshop leads will empower students to build vital skills with workshops such as Financial Literacy, Networking, Career Mapping, Time Management, and more. From enhancing networking confidence to simulating entrepreneurial ventures, these workshops offer practical insights to shape their future. Workshop presenters can either create a workshop or hand-pick one of the Vital Link created workshops.

Advisory Boards connect career technical educators with industry professionals to discuss current skills and techniques, industry trends, labor statistics, and workforce demands. This information helps high schools, ROPs, and community colleges advance their curricula.
Volunteer Roles:
- Moderator: Facilitates discussions and keeps meetings on track.
- Panelist: Provides expert insights and participates in discussions.
Academies are typically week-long summer programs where students engage in workshops to develop employability skills and connect with industry professionals. The goal is to build career awareness and explore various career paths while learning industry-specific skills.
Volunteer Roles:
- Mentor: Supports students with guidance and career advice.
- Panelist: Shares expertise and engages in Q&A sessions.
- Tour Guide: Leads groups through facilities, providing program information.
- Workshop Lead: Conducts workshops on relevant topics.
Career Exhibit Days introduce middle school students to various careers through booths showcasing industries like Digital Media Arts, Engineering, Drones, Animal Science, and more. The program helps students plan their high school coursework and future careers.
Volunteer Roles:
- Career Specialist Volunteer: Offers expertise and advice on career paths and job opportunities.
College & Career Fairs are events where students and community members explore academic and career opportunities, connect with industry professionals, and gain insights into various fields.
Volunteer Roles:
- Exhibitor: Manages a booth to showcase academic programs, career opportunities, or community resources.
- General Volunteer: Assists with setup, crowd management, and breakdown.
- Panelist: Engages in discussions and answers questions on academic and career topics.
- Workshop Lead: Conducts workshops on relevant topics.
Competitions include events like Digital Media Arts Competition and the Electric Vehicle Challenge. These competitions may be virtual or in-person and offer participants opportunities to showcase their skills.
Volunteer Roles:
- Judge: Evaluates participants and provides feedback.
- General Volunteer: Helps with event logistics and participant management.
- Mentor: Provides guidance and support to participants.
- Tour Guide: Leads visitors through the competition venue.
Special Events include the Annual Benefit, which supports the organization and promotes Career Education, and other events like the Culmination Breakfast.

- Student Talent/Student Volunteer: Participates in event activities, showcasing talents or helping with tasks.
The Student Leadership Summit is a one-day event that features interactive workshops and opportunities for students to connect with college and career exhibitors, fostering leadership skills and career exploration.
Volunteer Roles:
- General Volunteer: Supports event logistics and assists participants.
- Keynote Speaker: Delivers an inspiring address to motivate students.
- Workshop Lead: Facilitates workshops on leadership and related topics.
Tours provide opportunities to explore facilities and learn about programs and opportunities.
